A Dire New Year Resolution Everyone Must Adopt This Year

There’s one New Year resolution for 2022 that will set you apart from the rest if you dare to take it on.

To do a New Year resolution or not to do one? That…is the question! If I can recall, the last time I made a New Year’s resolution was when my children were small and I developed the habit of forgetting what the current days were. Vowing to never forget what day it was, lasted me until October of that year. I’m pretty proud of how long I clutched on to my resolution.

If King Solomon were alive today and weighed the American mode of New Year resolutions, he would repeat his famous line, “Vanity of vanities. All is vanity!” Our annual aspirations come January first are typically the following: join a gym, lose weight, save money, travel more, learn new skills, etc. All of these are great, but they generally don’t last, unless one has the tenacity to do so, which is commonly few and far between.

God loves all of those things, but we’re at a point in His timeline when things need to be increased within us. Things that aren’t so easily buried or forgotten after 30 days and will grip us with conviction if neglected.

The year 2022 is a year when every soul on earth will require a personal, intimate, particular relationship with Jesus Christ. Soley taking a minister’s word for it will not work. And a good minister who is in tune with Holy Spirit will instruct you to search them on your own and seek His revelation, as well as interpretation.

I’ve mentioned this before, either in an article or a video, but being the daughter of two ministers and having been raised in the church (in multiple denominations), only 20% of what I know about scripture and God has come from the church. Only 20! No, it’s not because I didn’t pay attention in Sunday school and service, but because I believe that’s how God designed it to be.

It wasn’t until I made the determination to seek out the heart of God for myself that I actually learned the revelations of the Lord (Prov. 25:2). I did something I never imagined I’d do: I put aside EVERYTHING I was taught in the church, opened up the Word of God, and asked the Author for His interpretation and commentary. Some things still lined up, others did not.

Would you believe I learned things I had NEVER heard nor learned before, yet, it was right there in scripture, clear as day, and 100% noncontradictory? To put the icing on the cake, God would always send something or someone to confirm the very mystery He revealed to me. Many times, they too had the same revelations. This supports the scripture that says,

“God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this…”

The same will be a necessity for this year. An absolute must! Mommy’s, Daddy’s, Grandma’s, nor your pastor’s God won’t due. It will be a requirement that the Lord Jesus Christ be your “go-to”, your God. Youtube channels, televangelists, even ministers won’t be enough for this. You will have to obtain that personal relationship with God where you two are in direct communication with each other. There will be things He reveals to you that you will be told to share with others, yet other information confidential.

I haven’t a clue what hand 2022 will play, but I absolutely know this: developing a one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ intimately, without a middleman, will be the fine line difference between your life and someone else’s. The difference can be between life and death, health and ailment, rain and drought, prosperity and poverty, blessings and curses.

This is a dire New Year resolution that if you take it on will bring favor to you and your household, and in addition, to those you encounter elsewhere. They will look on you, see the Glory of God shining in you, and seek out the God you know and there will be a ripple effect.
